MICC PITCH SESSIONS

 

The MICC (International Market of Contemporary Circus) offers professional visibility opportunities to contemporary circus artists and companies seeking to tour full-length performances in this discipline. The MICC provides these opportunities as part of its efforts to develop, sustain, and invigorate artistic creation and touring for contemporary circus in North America and around the world.

 

 

 

PITCH SESSIONS MICC ANNUAL MARKET 2024

Artists and companies working in the field of contemporary circus may submit their productions, both in the development phase and ready-to-tour, for consideration. Your application will be reviewed by a specialized jury, and selected projects will be invited to pitch to an audience of venue and festival programmers. These pitch sessions will take place at the MICC Annual Market in July 2024 in Montréal.

Submitting a project is free. However, you must be an active MICC member, if selected* a registration fee for the Annual Market will be required.

Deadline for Submitting: MARCH 1, 2024  5:00 PM EST

The following types of projects may be submitted for consideration:

  • Tour-ready full-length** contemporary circus productions (highest priority) 

  • Full-length* contemporary circus productions which are currently in a creation phase (Please feel free to articulate what you are seeking in terms of creation support – residency time, etc.)  

**Please note that the MICC defines ‘Full-Length’ as 45 minutes for indoor shows and 35 minutes for outdoor shows. For exceptions, please contact the MICC team.

*Selected artists will be notified by March 19, 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MICC welcomes any and all professional circus companies who create works for the international touring market to submit a project for consideration. Individual artists will be considered if they regularly tour full-length circus works. Please note that projects not conceived for touring, circus acts, and amateur or student works are not accepted. 

Please note: You must be an active MICC member in order to submit a project. 

 

Pitch sessions will take place at the MICC Annual Market on July 9, 2024 in Montréal.
